Smith Family Photos

Once upon a lifetime...

Mr. Smith is my high school counselor. He has been the counselor for 6 out of the 9 kids in my family, but has gotten to know my brother and I the best out of those 6. Joey and I have spent countless hours in his office rearranging schedules in order to earn our Associates Degree but get all the high school requirements covered as well. One day, Smith came into the photo class I t.a. (teacher's aid) in and asked me to do his family pictures. I have never done a photo shoot before, and knowing that this is a picture that people were going to put up on their wall didn't help the pressure. I don't have photo shoot so I couldn't do any of the fancy changes, but Windows Media Player let me do a limited amount of changes (black & white, sepia, saturation). I came home with a total of 336 pictures, and managed to get them down to about 118 before I gave the thumb drive to Mr. Smith. Here are a few of them:

The whole family

The girls

The boys

The parents

The kids

Mackenzie

Malia

Connor (just in case you're wondering, he refused to smile in any of the pictures)

It's a Dancer Life For Me

So...I dance. I've been on the high school company for two years. Before that, I took a few classes at the Academy of Ballet (not as great as it sounds) until 5th grade. My mom says that I stopped taking classes because we didn't have money, but just between you and me I think it's because I threw a fit before every class. I hated it. I was the family tom boy. I played soccer, beat up the boys at school, played in the sandbox, and wrestled with my brothers. Dancing was too...girly. It required wearing pink and don't even get me started on make up. Ew. But once I got to high school, I took one of the beginner dance classes, then decided to try out for the company. I'm not gonna lie, I sucked at first. I was probably the worst one on the company. Two years later...

Lil' Chillens

Once upon a lifetime....
I have the most adorable nieces and nephews, who also happen to be very photogenic. I love these kids, except in those moments when they destroy things in my room or go charging through the house yelling and screaming when I have a headache.

A Simple Start

My name is Kara. This is my third attempt to start a blog, and figured now would be a good time to do it because I am sitting in a class and doing nothing. My best friend Ashley told me to start blogging again, which is the main reason I am doing this. I am the "T.A." or teacher's assistant for the photography class, and now that school is almost over there is nothing to grade. Mr. Cramer, the teacher, has been trying to tell the class a story for the last 30 minutes but has been unsuccessful because the class won't stop talking. I can tell he's trying not to start yelling, and I don't blame him. I'm frustrated with the class and I'm not even the teacher. Just a typical day in the classroom.
